Trying to connect through the only dual band device i have at the moment, my dell precision m6400. router is a asus rt-66u (the "r" version from best buy). passkey and encyption is setup the same between 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz bands encryption: wpa2- personal aes-ccmp on both bands.. I recently upgraded my modem router to a tp-link ac1900 (archer d9) and can't connect to the 5ghz band from my desktop pc with an asus pce-ac68 pci adapter, despite the band being visible in the. I've got an asus rt-ac68u which has both a 2.4ghz and 5ghz network. my win10 laptop can connect to the 5ghz network and everything works perfectly. when i try to connect to the 2.4ghz network, it appears to connect but doesn't actually work. it pulls an ip but i can't ping the router or connect to anything on the network/internet..
This worked fine for a long time. sometime in the last few days i have not been able to connect my phones at 5g. they were both connected at 5g before. when i bring up the list of wi fi networks the 5g network is listed as "not in range". this is happening as i am sitting about 2 feet from the router. i have 3.0.0.4.380_3831 installed on the. Wdna3100 netgear for my usb adapter router thing that i am using to connect this pc. (not attached to my main router/modem) my router/modem are netgear cmd31t and netgear n600 dual band i dont understand why i can connect to my 5ghz without a passcode.. yet when i put a code on it i cant connect at all!?. I guess you’re asking if it can connect directly to the isp? if so, then no, you need to also use a cable modem between the isp (internet service provider) and the router. if you are asking if the asus rt-acrh13 is an wifi router, then sure, it has two radios (2.4ghz and 5ghz) and allows you to connect any compatible wireless device..
